Thursday morning Tod Kowalczyk, Tom Crean's top assistant, was named the head men's basketball coach at UW-Green Bay. Here's a good story about the hiring from the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

Here's Tom Crean's statement on Kowalczyk's appointment:

"I am very excited for Tod to have this opportunity to follow his dream at

the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. At the same time, everyone here

will miss him. Not only has he done a great job at Marquette, but he is a

class guy."

"Tod's work ethic, attention to detail, and knowledge of the game, mixed

with the fact that, after being at Marquette, he understands how to tie the

student and community into the program, makes him a great choice for

Wisconsin-Green Bay."
